Persimmon is a particularly peculiar word.

Well, I ended up swinging a single for next year in our room draw last night. We’re living in Stevenson Hall and I’ll be residing in 402, one of the Suicide Singles. Hopefully won’t be that bad, but whatever. I’ll make it the best single on our hall, no joke. Actually, knowing me, I’m almost sure I’ll make it as cozy as can be. I like small cozy places, one of the reasons why I applied for a single in the first place. Anyways, aside from the suicide single, I also ended up registering for my classes last night as well.  Apparently students need to take a minimum of 32 credits, and in order for that to be accomplished within my academic career, I needed to take four anyways. While I’m not too vexed about that to begin with, I am slightly disappointed though. It’s not a big deal for me, but I was hoping I’d be able to focus more on I.S. and not have really anything else stand in my way classes-wise. But, you can’t always get what you want though, right? Right. Early bird gets the grease…or something to that effect. So, classes-wise, I ended up taking Senior I.S., The Early American Novel, Advanced Fictional Writing, and Ancient Philosophy. So far I’ve heard from a couple of my friends, specifically Erin B. and Britta, that they might be taking those classes as well. I know for a fact that Erin will be in my English-based classes, mainly due to scheming with her to take them in the first place. I’m sure the entire class will be fun, but my schedule is going to be slightly ridiculous. The Advanced Fictional Writing class is on Tuesday from 7-9:40pm. Pretty long writing class, but hopefully it’ll be enjoyable. Also, I’m pretty sure the Early American Novel class only meets Monday and Wednesday, so that should free up my Friday’s pretty well overall.

I’m somewhat hesitant about the ancient philosophy though. I’ve never taken a Philosophy course, so I’m again hesitant in trying something different. I’m not really used to that line of “deeper” thinking, mainly because I consider myself to be pretty simple. Well, I wouldn’t say simple, I’m pretty complex as it is. Maybe linear is the right word. I mean, my brain works in ridiculous ways, everybody says so. My imagination is something I hold very dear to me and indulge often, so we’ll see how this philosophy goes.

On a completely separate note.

Bear-mageddon is scary. It’s kind of like Armageddon, except in this scenario, Bears will rain down in massive bear-meteors. All engulfed in fire and cosmic what-not from the strangely bear-shaped stellar cloud in the universe. It’s one of those ‘signs’ of the coming Apocolypse, you know, if bears start raining down from the sky. (Jeez, what if we had an Alpaca-lypse?)

In approaching my day, I intend to be like Bruce Lee in his final movie The Game of Death.  “Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.”

It’s a calming approach to the day, but I’m remembering to breathe for once in my life. I mean, the hard part of my week is over so far, correct?

And now, time for your daily dose of bears.

One might say it was...panda-monium?
