Long live the revolution

Ah, May.
I’m personally a fan of April, since it’s a little warmer than March, but May takes the cake. It is such a wonderful time of year. I mean, it seems that so many people have their birthdays in May. (including myself, but that’s not the big point here.) But at large, May seems like the warmest month of Spring. Granted, it’s been a rainy year thus far, and we’ve not had much warm weather up in Wooster, but you can always count on warmer weather and sunshine in May. It would seem after the wonderful and prompt return of Spring, we’re slowly but surely edging into Summer. Frankly, I like that.
The new board, simply put, is incredible. I’m going to be picking up a shorter one for city cruising sometime in the near future, I like it THAT much. Granted, I don’t want to jump the gun. I have yet to even name my longer Laniakea, but I think I might actually leave the name at that. The Laniakea. Sounds pretty calming to me. Like a boat, or something of the sort. Anyways, I’m going to try and gather up the skateboards that I own and make a rack out of them for next year, display them on the wall for both decoration and function. I mean, say I want to take my Laniakea board out for the day. I just take it off the wall and literally go to town with it. Not only do I get the design showing into my room, I cut down on the use of those little posters I put up every year. That’d be a much nicer change of pace, plus, I wouldn’t have things flapping in the wind all the time when I open a window. Granted, I like the advertisement look to many of my ‘poster walls’ but I think it’s time for a change in pace. That being said, I’ve got enough boards to get started with, and by the end of next year, I’m going to be stopping at 5 or so. (2 short boards, and hopefully 3 long ones.) I think it’s understandable that if I even end up getting a total of 5 boards, I’m going to have to dismantle the two short ones and stick with the 3 longboards. Of the ones I’ve been looking at, the Bambino seems to be the shortest of the three, and probably going to end up being my city cruiser. (It’d be something I take around Chicago or something. Something you can strap on to a bag and actually MAKE sharp turns with.) The Laniakea will be my everyday and longer cruising board, being the medium length of each. While the Waimea (One of the longer boards I’m looking into for next year when I actually want to treat myself to something instead of saving money.) will probably end up being my long cruise board or downhill once I get more into carving. Each of the boards I’ve been looking at comes from the Bamboo series, which I personally think is the most relaxed of the Sector 9 series. I love the look, and so far, I’m a huge fan of the feel. I’ll talk about something other than skateboards in my next post. Honest.
