Ok, so we’ve had quite the couple of rainy days of late. Last night we got absolutely poured on, as well as having hail the night before. We had hail Monday night that was the size of marbles. It was quite frankly one of the most impressive storms I have seen thus far on this campus, luckily my car did not sustain much damage at all. Lightning everywhere, but hardly any thunder. Simply put, it was incredible.

Whooooosh. So much on my mind as of late. I saw Up last night with my house and I kid you not, it was one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. Pixar really outdid themselves with this movie. I thought, as a whole, the movie was deeply touching as well as hilarious at times. Also, I’m pretty sure that Pixar has mapped (let alone voiced) the emotional range of a golden retriever. Dug the Dog was hilarious, with his little quips of “My name is Dug. I have just met you and I love you.” or “I hid under your porch because I love you.” your instantly smitten with Dug. The short in the beginning of the movie also is one of Pixar’s best. Not only in terms of animation and storyboarding, but also the level of emotion conveyed within the story itself. Carl Fredrickson has a stellar as well as a somewhat ‘believable’ life, which is really saying something coming from a cartoon character. Or the fact that the movie that was about pulling your house up by balloons and going off on an adventure. I would even go so far to say that the entire thing had to be Pixar’s best film yet. Though, if I had learned one thing in the end of the movie, it certainly has to be to never doubt the power of helium balloons. Seriously though, it was a great, absolutely great movie.

This weekend, I’m heading to Cincinnati to see my brother Rainor off for graduation. Next weekend, I’m heading to go see Sam off before he leaves for Ireland and Guatemala. The weekend after that I’ll stay in Wooster, go see a show with Jen. Weekend after that? Heading to go visit Jeff in Ithaca. I miss him, as well as the rest of my boys back home. Lang, Keesh, Chris Pierce. I wonder what they’ve been up to this summer? It’s been so long since my time in High School ended. I suppose I’m just thinking this over as Rainor’s graduation is coming up, it makes me think about my own time at Country Day. Well, back to work.

Oh Pixar.

Oh Pixar.
