Snapshots of Daydreams.

Ok, so, I’ve just been recently introduced to these tiny “mobile” houses by the “Tumbleweed Tiny House Company”. (who’s website can be found here.) These little houses are a new development in the realm of cleaner and greener living, but I have to say, I’m smitten with the idea of being able to take my house with me on the road. I don’t know how practical the idea of these houses are, (especially in regards to the mobility of the structures.) but the thought of being able to pack up and take my show to say, Arizona or Portland, makes me drool slightly. These little houses make me think that a summer house might actually be possible in the future! (The two pictures below really made me stop and think about this.)

The smaller houses can come pre-built for close to 50,000$, and prices increase from there on. But I mean, come on. If one saves up enough money, it’s completely practical to buy a small vacation home for 50,000$. This particular model I’ve got my eye on is 48,997$. Frankly, this is my goal for a vacation home. While I might end up living in one of these tiny houses, (One might say it’s a box, considering I was an English major in college.) I can for sure see one of these “Tiny Houses” in my life’s horizon. Granted, I wouldn’t be able to fit much of anything into this little space, it’s 102 square feet, but who needs stuff when you’re vacationing? (But, the thought of it being a nice little summer cottage makes me smile.) The other option I’m thinking about is the Fencl Model, which is 53,997$, but is 137 square feet. They both seem to look the same, but the blueprints really show the difference. Maybe it’s just the stuff of daydreams, but these sure seem pretty cool.
